Crowd impressed as 5th District Democrats debate

Marcye Britt traveled to the quaint town of Washington looking for clarity about whom to vote for in the Democratic primary for the 5th Congressional District.

But after a nearly two-hour debate between endorsed Democratic candidate Mary Glassman and primary challenger Jahana Hayes, Britt, who drove from her home in Southbury, still couldn’t make up her mind.

“I came here hoping I would come away with a very clear-cut sense of who I was going to vote for,” Britt said “But I was impressed by both of them. I thought Jahana was an absolute powerhouse, but I just don’t know. I’m just so thrilled we have this kind of a choice to make.”
